Photography > Polaroids

Using the depleting resources of the discontinued large format peel-apart, specifically 3.23x4.25 and 4x5 inch film, I bleach the backs or soak the negatives in sodium sulfate (depending on the film) of the negatives to clear them for darkroom or scanning use. This process inevitably manipulates the development and creates a negative that has a painterly, spectral quality to it. I end up with, essentially, two different images, the positive polaroid print that is a “document” of the moment and the negative that captures the ephemerality of the process.
